Corby Kingswood Juniors FC are working closely with the Northamptonshire
Football Association, Corby Borough Council and Northamptonshire Sport
to become a multi disabled football club. This will enable the club to
offer coaching sessions for disabled boys and girls. In 2008 Corby Kingswood received the Community Charter Award and as part of the clubs commitment to the community as a whole has in Association with The National Deaf Children's Society (NDCS) has become a Deaf Friendly Football Club (DDFC) to give both boys and girls with hearing disabilities the chance to play football.
All
of our coaches have completed both a Disability
coaching course and football coaching for the deaf including Basic sign
Language, this is a fine testament to all of the coaches commitment in helping the
Community on behalf of Corby Kingswood Juniors FC Corby Kingswood Kites at their first Tournament
Mark Frost and Steve Legg took the Corby Kingswood Kites to Hinckley for
their first tournament. 14 kids played 8-12 and 12-16 age groups.
Both age groups played 4 games each, winning three and drawing one game,
and won the tournament in their age group category. Mark received
a fair play trophy and all the kids were presented with trophies by the
mayor of Hinckley. A great time was had by all the kids and
parents who came to support us, and the sun was shining so we couldn’t
have asked for a better day.
The Kites Vs Northampton Town...... Well done to the Corby Kingswood Kites team who went to Six Fields in Northampton to play the Northampton Town U14 disability team and won 3-2. Well done to the team and Mark and Steve their coaches.
Below are a couple of photos of two lads from the Kites. Ben and Alex meet Sir Geoff Hurst at Grendon
Sapphires. They also had their picture taken with the Community Shield.
